UASD sentence coup in Honduras International calls made against Venezuela
Autonomous University of Santo Domingo ordered The coup that was perpetrated against the president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya called the academic and political communities in the hemisphere to speak out against the coup d'état.
Speaking on behalf of the University family, Dr. Franklin Garcia Fermin said the sentence does aggressively, while maintaining that the international community must act together for political and diplomatically isolate the coup leaders as to what provided by the Inter-American Democratic Charter in Lima, 2001.

As such, Dr. Fermin Garcia said the UASD can not remain aloof and isolated from this serious attack on democracy in Honduras, which in turn, is an affront to all democracies in the hemisphere.
As the chancellor of the state university, urged the relevant bodies like the OAS, to request the immediate convocation of the Permanent Council of the organization to undertake a collective assessment of the situation and take decisions that it deems appropriate in accordance with the provisions of Article 20 of the Charter of Lima 2001.
